The Social Democrats reject fearmongering
The Social Democrats Dun Laoghaire branch is proud to join with dozens of local community groups and other political parties in launching our ‘Dún Laoghaire Welcomes’ campaign.
Social Democrats Councillor Dave Quinn said:
“I want to express my warm welcome to all those people who are seeking asylum and who have been provided temporary accommodation in Dún Laoghaire.
“I also welcome the initiatives that dozens of community groups are taking, in reaching out to our new residents, with invitations extended to be part of our local clubs and community activities.
“Unfortunately in recent days, a small number of people have tried to stir up fear and hate against those seeking asylum in Dún Laoghaire. The Social Democrats reject fearmongering and are confident the people of Dún Laoghaire will not support protests that unfairly target people seeking asylum.”
