I’m Lola Gonzalez, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Carrick-on-Shannon.
Carrick is a great area to live and I am deeply passionate about representing the people and communities of this area.
I managed for six years the National Council of the Blind shop in town. Currently, I’m a Diversity and Inclusion EU Project Specialist at Momentum in Leitrim Village.
I volunteer my time in the Leitrim Peace Plus Partnership, Leitrim Pride, and Leitrim Volunteer Centre Board. I am a member of the Migrant & Refugee Leaders Network, All-Island Women’s Peacebuilding Network, Leitrim International Community Group, and Leitrim Integration Strategy Working Group. I was a member of the Leitrim Local Community Development Committee for two years as Inclusion Pillar.
I want to be a strong voice on local issues and I will work hard to make our community a great place to live for everyone.
I see a town that needs more innovative ideas to progress and become a community that all are a part of and can feel proud to be a part of. I believe I can feel that need. I know that communities benefit from collaboration and transparency to reach goals and that we need those skills here.
