Elisa O’Donovan is the Social Democrats councillor for Limerick City West on Limerick City and County Council.
Elisa lives on O’Connell Avenue and works in the HSE as a Speech and Language Therapist. She has proudly represented the people of Limerick City west since 2019 and is passionate about making Limerick a better place to live for all.
Elisa lived in London and Dublin for many years before returning to Limerick in 2014. She holds a medical science degree and an MSc in Rehabilitation and Disability studies from UCD. She also holds an MSc (professional qualification) in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Limerick. She has worked in primary care and neuro-rehabilitation in the HSE in Limerick city. She previously worked as a research and policy assistant with the Disability Federation of Ireland, Community Integration officer with Headway and as a Community Development Worker in the Mid-West for Mental Health Reform.
In 2017 Elisa established #SwimableLimerick, an initiative to promote social swimming in the River Shannon in Limerick City. She loves running and cycling and can be found most Saturday morning’s at Mungret ParkRun!
As well as an elected representative, Elisa is a board member of West Limerick Resources, Employability Limerick, Ballinacurra/Weston regeneration committee, and a Milk Market Trustee.
