Meet Deirdre

I’m Deirdre McCormack, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Baltinglass, West Wicklow.

Since founding the campaign for a Pool for West Wicklow in 2018 I have met so many community groups, sports clubs, schools and communities in need of better facilities here in West Wicklow.

Through my work as a Community Activist and with Jennifer Whitmore TD I have highlighted numerous local issues and helped to find solutions for our community.

I believe that West Wicklow needs a strong voice representing it to ensure that our community receives the investment and infrastructure that we need in our towns and villages. We need more support and investment in local sporting facilities, public transport, parks, playgrounds, schools and our communities.

I would be proud to be this voice for West Wicklow and to represent the people of the Baltinglass LEA and West Wicklow.

Deirdre’s Priorities

• Improved and more frequent local public transport throughout West Wicklow.
• The development of sporting and community facilities for our local sports clubs and community groups.
• The proper expansion of our local schools in line with the growth of our communities.
• The provision of and improvement of community amenities and facilities including playgrounds and parks.
