Meet Ciarán

I’m Ciarán McCarthy, the Social Democrats Local Election Candidate for Cork City South West.

I am a barrister from Ballincollig in Cork and I am currently campaigning for the 2024 Local Elections where I want to secure a seat so as to hold the Executive of Cork City Council to account for its continued failure to row back on the degradation of local services and funding since the extension of the City Boundary in 2019.

Ciarán’s Priorities

• Continuing to campaign against the degradation of services and funding which has continued unchallenged since the re-drawing of the city boundary in 2019.
• Demanding that the executive of Cork City Council be held to account.
• Highlighting overcrowding in Cork University Hospital and the lack of facilities and services for the elderly and disabled.
